Welcome to Delta Delta Sigma!
"Don't reinvent the wheel." – This timeless idiom was the most resonant advice I received as I began my journey through Chapel Hill.
My father stressed this notion, that amidst the fears of professional misguide and social eccentricity, two principles would guide my early experiences.
(1) Firstly, he advised that I lean on those who came before me. To not reinvent the wheel is to learn from the successes and the failures of those in recent past. To take advantage of the resources hiding in plain sight. Amongst the many corners of Carolina, DDS revealed itself to me as an aggregate of gems.
By engaging with DDS meetings, socials, service events, and conferences – all curated and iterated through past trials and adjustments – I began to understand why dentistry is a good fit for my interests and values. Dentistry then became a compass through Carolina, guiding me through each page in my undergraduate chapter.
(2) Secondly, my father ensured that every new college student shared similar sentiments regarding belonging. Those who embrace this collective uncertainty find solace in it, and they become fearless in putting themselves into the public gaze.
Rushing DDS was a manifestation of my search for community, and moving through DDS leadership has brought some of my best friends and most memorable experiences at Carolina. At DDS, combining professional development with social furthering is the mission, not a convenient byproduct. Because UNC students should not be burdened with reinventing pre-dentistry – we should find solace in relearning and building on its history as a collective.
I am honored to build what it means to study pre-dentistry, and I am excited to bear the responsibility of DDS President alongside an exceptional board of executives. I invite you to explore the opportunities we have to offer, and I hope you can find community at Carolina through UNC Delta Delta Sigma.

Delta Delta Sigma is UNC-Chapel Hill's pre-dental honor society and Carolina's largest pre-dental organization, open to all undergraduates with a shared interest in dentistry. Through introduction-to-dentistry seminars, guidance on the dental school application, community service, and mentorship, we help students explore dentistry, prepare for dental school, and grow as leaders. Meet dentistry, live
In conjunction with the UNC Adams School of Dentistry, we host a running seminar series — guest lecturers from across the dental community put general dentistry, the specialties, and real casework in front of you before you ever apply.
A map to admission
We guide members through their undergraduate years and the dental school application — course roadmaps, exam archives, DAT study cohorts, essay reviews, and mock interviews that turn Carolina's toughest stretch into a shared project instead of a solo grind.
